**In The Streets**

I don’t know many women on this earth that will tell you that they weren’t die hard fans of the show “Sex and the City.”  Definitely not anyone I know at least! I have to be honest and admit that I am a S and the C super fan lol!  I’ve watched every episode a thousand times, I own the collectors special edition set and I even went on the tour for the show in NYC haha.  From the very first episode to the last movie that was made, I was always genuinely in awe of Carrie Bradshaw’s style.  Even the most outrageous outfits inspired me in some way!  Click on this link to read an article where Patricia Fields, who was the costume designer for the show talks about some of the iconic pieces she put on Carrie that remained throughout each season.

This particular outfit is one that I put together based on her style from season 6.  You will see her in that season repeatedly wear body-con dresses with some sort of ankle booties.  With fall fast approaching, I thought this was a great transitional outfit to showcase.  I love the shade of blue that this dress is, and I felt it paired so well with a light grey suede bootie.  Belting the dress and adding some layered gold necklaces and a big fringe bag is the kind of over accessorizing that Carrie was known for.  She normally would wear an oversized coat with this kind of outfit, but being that it’s still summer, I decided to go with my Yigal Azrouel cropped half sleeve leather jacket.  Feel free to have some fun with this kind of look.  Carrie was anything but conventional and she will go down in history as one of the biggest style icons to ever exist!  Shop the complete look here:

**After Dark**

This post is one that I am dedicating to a trip I took to Paris that forever changed my life.  I put this outfit together based on my love for Coco Chanel as well as the “City of lights!”  While visiting Paris I was lucky enough to experience the city during fashion week.  An amazing time when the cobble stone streets are over flowed with Haute couture and all the glitz and glamour one can ever dream of!  The minute I stepped foot in this incredible place, I fell in love in ways I had never experienced before.  From drinking cafe au lait’s at the local brasseries, to visiting the iconic 31 Rue Cambon Chanel, every minute I spent in this city was nothing short of magical.  I decided to share some of my favorite pics from the trip.

Born and raised in Detroit, I wanted to share a fun fact.  Many don’t know this, but Detroit was actually founded by a French explorer and nobleman by the name of Antoine de la Mothe, sieur de Cadillac and the word “Detroit” is actually French for “strait.”  The French called the river “le detroit du Lac Erie,” meaning “the strait of Lake Erie.”

It’s always funny how certain things tie you together in certain ways!

When putting together this look, I wanted to keep it sleek and simple.  A clean silhouette with the edge of killer stiletto’s and fingerless gloves.  I would wear this outfit any day of the week in Paris, but living in Detroit, I would do this only for an evening event.  I have a slight obsession with graphic T’s and I love exploring all of the different ways to pair them.  Hair in a half top knot and a darker lip completes the look.  Shop the outfit here:

**In The Streets**

When I put together an outfit, I try to have as much fun as possible.  Especially when it comes to accessories.  With this particular look, I am definitely channeling my inner Khloe K!  I usually like wearing fedoras more so in the fall than the summer, but I bought this panama hat for a vacation and it just happened to go so well with the rest of this look.  Depending on where you live, this is a great street style look! I also think this outfit works well for traveling purposes.  I usually travel in sweats, but every once in a while, I like to step off the plane in something cute 😉 Flats look great with this outfit too if you have a good height, but I prefer a heel since I’m so short and with a flat I would just look stumpy lol! Simple, straight hair and a cute cross body complete the look.  Shop the look here:

**In The Streets**

Sticking with the theme of bright colors this season, here’s another great top that adds a special pop to any outfit!  You’ll notice throughout my blog that a ripped jean and pointy toe heel are the most commonly worn items in my entire wardrobe.  This outfit is without a doubt, my quintessential style.  Even though the top is just a basic $10 tank, doesn’t mean you have to wear it in a basic way.  A pair of python loubs was great way to jazz it up a bit.  I really wanted to maintain the grunge side of the look however, so I took off the straps to my pandora bag and carried it hand-held and wore a sweater jacket very loosely over my shoulders.  A red lip and classic Ray-bans complete the look.  Shop the outfit here:

**Fun N’ Flirty**

As simple as some may think it is, there is nothing more aesthetically appealing to me than a monochromatic look!  I think you can add just as much flare to an all nude look as one that is mixed with bright colors.  I bought this outfit to wear to a bridal shower for a dear friend.  I kept it simple since it was a daytime event.  Light jewelry and hair in a messy top knot.  I decided on a clear shoe since I really wanted the focus to be kept on just the top and the bottoms.  Surprisingly, both of those pieces are less than $100! You will probably see me wear this top in a few more posts in the future since I’m a little obsessed with it these days.  Shop the complete look here:

*Sporty Chic**

A Monday morning following a packed full weekend calls for sporty, errand running digs!  For some reason, I tend to get an extreme amount done when I am in my tennies and joggers! From going to the gym, to getting some shopping done, my sweats make it a comfortable day while I stay busy getting myself ready for the week.  I remember a time when people would never leave the house with sneakers and joggers on because it was deemed to casual of a look. But, I think there’s so many fashionable ways to rock it these days!  Shop the complete look here:

**Fun n’ Flirty**

Once in a while throughout my blog you will see me step totally out of my comfort zone and do something that is just fun and playful for a change.  This is a prime example of one of those times ;).  I’m not usually a pinky girl, however, this top was giving me some serious Cali vibes, so I just had to get it!  I love how cute and flirty this top looks with a pair of ripped up mid rise jeans and nude basics.  I added some designer duds to give it some extra pizazz.  I tried a pony tail with this at first, but then decided that simple beach waves were the best way to complete the look.  This outfit has (fun concert) or (bachelorette party) written all over it!  The top is from forever21 and I know they have low stock online, however, they do carry it in store as well.  Shop the complete look here:

**After Dark**

Those who know me well, know that I am anything but conventional.  And through fashion, I feel like I really get to express the real sides of me.  I put this look together for an outdoor, evening event taking place in the city.  The dress code called for sassy chic! I knew I didn’t want to wear a typical dress, so I decided to grunge up my look a bit with some fitted denim.  I find it’s always easy to dress the expected way, but why not change the view on how things are meant to be??  I carried an oversized metallic LANVIN clutch, folded, and did a simple strappy nude heel with it to keep the attention on the wrap dress.  I personally don’t like the look of over exposed cleavage with something this low cut, so I chose to wear a bandeau under.  Simple hair and jewelry also helps keep the focus on the main part of the outfit you are trying to display.  Shop the complete look here:

**In The Streets**

When it comes to putting a head to toe look together, sometimes the easiest thing to do is go straight for all of your staple pieces.  From my tank top to my shoes, these pieces are all on constant rotation for me.  To add a little attention to detail, I threw on a Chanel chain belt and wore it as a necklace.  I love the idea of a chain belt because it offers multiple ways of use.  There are times I have even worn it as a wrap around bracelet.    Nude pointy toe heels are also an absolute must! If you don’t own a pair, now’s the time to get them! I promise you will wear them with EVERYTHING!  Rock a pair of aviators and a fun bag for your own personal touch.  No fuss, no muss.  Just easy peasy!  Shop the look here:
